Tough Day for Robinson Romo Racing at SCORE San Felipe 250 El Centro, Calif., – Jan 26, 2015 – Saturday proved to be a challenging day for Robinson Romo Racing co-drivers Cody Robinson and Roberto Romo at the SCORE International San Felipe 250.

Robinson and Romo, last year’s San Felipe 250 Class 10 victors and three-time San Felipe 1600 Class winners looked for a repeat on Saturday.

Romo started eighth out of the 13 entrants in the Class 10 field. The 1016 Radar Tires/Robinson Farms/Romo Race Prep Class 10 buggy with special non-DOT size 33X10.50R15 Radar Renegade R5 race tires was maintaining a good pace through mileage checkpoints 40 and 70; leading on corrected time. During a driver swap at mile marker 125 the team lost a little time due to adding oil, but Robinson was still in a prime position in the Class 10 field.

About ten miles into Robinson’s stint in the buggy, the transmission failed, and the teams’ hopes for a repeat were halted.

Next up for Robinson/Romo will be the Best in the Desert Bluewater Resort Parker 425. The event takes place in Parker, Ariz., on February 6-8.
