Radar Tires Finishes Second In Parker With Coleman Motorsports At BITD Season Opener

Las Vegas, NV, February 8, 2016 – While it is still early in the 2016 Class 1000 championship, Jason Coleman and Radar Tires gain a crucial finish in the Parker 425. A Second Place finish in the thirty-six car field sets the tone early for the team in the Best in the Desert series. From the 6:00am start to the finish, Jason ran in the top three of the three lap loop race. However, Radar Tires maintains its endurance from last year as the same set of Renegade R5 M/T tires were run from start to finish with no changes.

With a third position, second row start, Jason Coleman and new co-driver Drew Aguiar had to pick a measured pace for the first two laps of the three-lap Parker 425. In the dark of the 6:00am morning, the Coleman Motorsports team kept at it even as dust began to rise up and make visibility a bit harder. Even so, they were able to maintain a top three pace for the entire run. “It was a rather uneventful day with no downtime due to flats or anything mechanical- just stopped for fuel twice! We tried to run a deliberate pace and pretty much stuck to our plan.”

The third and final lap, Drew and Jason decided to hasten the pace and push a little more, “On the last lap we pushed a bit, especially though the rough stuff, having confidence that our Radar Renegade R5 tires would get us through the rocky sections without injury. We ran the same set of tires all day as planned- they performed great! It was also nice that it was Holly’s, my wife, birthday and to bring home a Second Place for her is a great gift.” Even though Drew was new to the team, he still made a difference, “Drew Aguiar did a great job navigating, especially during the dark and dusty first hour. We made it a little easier on him since he never had to get out of the car.”

With a great result for the first race of the 2016 BitD season, Jason knew it was testing and the endurance of the Renegade R5 M/T tires that helped him. “Our winter testing is paying off- car is the best it has been to date but still needs a little refinement. You never test quite as fast as you race, so we need to continue to develop the car. Overall, I am very satisfied with the result- our goal is the 2016 BitD Class 1000 Championship and this is a good step towards that goal.”

This is also a great start to the racing season for Radar Tires. “Early start today to a long race,” says Motorsports Manager Gary Blalock on Radar’s Parker 425, “but with a very good result. We had two cars entered in Class 1000 on Radar tires, Cody Robinson and Jason Coleman. Cody suffered a terminal steering issue on Lap 2 while running in the top 5 but Jason was able to secure 2nd place having run up front all day. No one had any tire issues or changed any tires during the race. It is a good start to the desert racing season for Jason and we will continue to build on our successes and grow our programs.”
