Cam Reimers And Ian Harris To Campaign Radar Tires In 2014 TORC

Traverse City, Mich., – Feb. 5, 2014 – Radar Tires continues to develop and enhance its sophomore season in short course off-road racing by adding Cam Reimers Motorsports (CRM) drivers Cam Reimers and Ian Harris to its roster.

For 2014, Reimers and Harris will drive the No. 21 SSI Decals and No. 12 SSI Decals Pro Light trucks, respectively, in the 2014 The Off-Road Championship (TORC) season. Both Reimers and Harris will use size LT265/75R16 and 32X11.50R15 Radar Renegade R5 tires.

The two-truck effort of CRM should bode well for Radar Tires in TORC. Radar Tires has three full-season racers vying for podium finishes, wins and the championship title in TORC Pro Light competition. In January, Radar Tires announced that Red Bull athlete Luke Johnson, driver/owner of the No. 14 Project648 Motorsports Dodge Dakota, will campaign the full TORC season and a partial LOORRS schedule.

Now that he’s in his sophomore TORC season, it is only fitting that Reimers teams with Radar Tires, also in its second year of motorsports. In addition to the new relationship with Radar Tires, CRM expands for 2014 and will campaign a two-truck Pro Light effort with Harris.

“Radar Tires looks forward to our second season of short course off-road racing with the addition of Cam and Ian to our program,” said Gary Blalock, Radar Tires Motorsports Manager. “By signing Cam and Ian to the team, we’re demonstrating that Radar Tires is putting forth a serious effort. TORC is new to us, but we’ll leverage Cam’s knowledge from 2013, and we’ll grow as a team this season. We have three solid drivers in TORC with Cam, Ian and Luke, so we’re expecting frequent podiums and maybe a few wins.”

Reimers hails from Ogden, Iowa, where the 25-year-old serves as both driver and owner of the short course off-road racing organization that bears his name. Reimers started his racing career in ATV motocross where he earned numerous class and overall wins, and a championship title. The tides changed for Reimers in 2012, when his motocross career was sidelined due to injuries. With adrenaline still pumping and the drive for racing still brewing, Reimers sought alternatives to the motocross world and the TORC series caught his eye.

“Transitioning from ATV to TORC all comes down to my love for racing, and it was the next logical step for my career,” Reimers said. Our rookie season was strong and we were learning along the way. Now that I have one TORC season under my belt, a great teammate in Ian and eight competitive Radar Tires mounted on our trucks, our opportunities for success have greatly improved. We’re really looking forward to the 2014 season, being competitive, and showing that Radar Tires makes the best off-road tire in TORC.”

In 2013, Reimers made the leap from motocross to the Pro Light class of TORC. In his rookie season, Reimers earned one podium, four top-five and nine top-10 finishes. Harris, of Galena, Illinois, also started his racing career on the ATV motocross circuit and has been competing for more than a decade in off-road motorsports. In addition to his racing career, Harris has an established graphics company, SSI Decals, which specializes in the offroad industry.

“Radar Tires and Omni United have made a significant commitment to the off-road industry and we are glad to be part of its 2014 effort,” said Harris. “Their products are performance-driven and have the proven durability that we need to be competitive in the TORC series in 2014. We have the opportunity to showcase the quality of the tires and we plan to demonstrate that this year. By building on what Cam started last year, we have momentum and are looking forward to making a significant impact in the TORC series.”

Remiers, Harris and Radar Tires will compete in the TORC season opening double-header race on April 5-6, in Primm, Nev.
